How I got here
I spent eight years investigating disputed transactions at a Canadian payment processor, which meant reading a lot of chargeback files and hearing a lot of “the merchant won’t respond” from frustrated customers. After that I moved into compliance at a gaming supplier, right through Ontario’s market opening in April 2022, which is where I learned how a bonus term or a verification step that looks routine on paper can turn into a real problem for a real player.
Why I time withdrawals
Every operator claims fast payouts. The only way I’ve found to know if that’s true is to open an account in my own name, deposit my own money, and put a clock on the entire process — verification, the withdrawal request, and the wait for funds to actually land. If a site is slow, I’d rather find that out with my own money than let a reader find it out with theirs.
What I will and won’t write about
I write about operators I’ve personally tested, using accounts opened as an ordinary Canadian player would open them. I won’t write a favourable line about a site I haven’t tested, and I won’t accept payment for a better placement.
What I get wrong
I’m one player testing under normal conditions — my experience with verification speed or customer support on a given day isn’t a guarantee of what you’ll get on yours, and payout times in particular can vary with volume and with the payment method you choose. I try to note that variability rather than paper over it.
